The State Health Department will look into the impact of NYCHA lead paint failures on tenants.

At a budget hearing in Albany yesterday, State Senator James Sanders requested an investigation into the health threats in public housing.

Department of Health Commissioner, Howard Zucker responded saying he will take the time to determine the scope of an investigation.

NYCHA has come under fire after chairwoman Shola Olatoye testified that housing authority employees received training in lead testing, when the majority didn't.

Some of the inquiry by the Health Department may include testing for lead poisoning in children who live in these apartments.
