Former Congressman Michael Grimm appears to have won over a prominent supporter.

Following a meeting Wednesday, Grimm posted a photo of himself with President Trump's former chief strategist, Steve Bannon, with the caption, "Game on."

Campaign spokesman Michael Caputo told NY1 that while this was not an official endorsement, the two had a positive meeting and discussed how they could work together.

Grimm, who served time in federal prison for tax fraud, is attempting to win back his old seat, challenging the incumbent congressman Republican Dan Donovan. The district covers Staten Island and part of South Brooklyn.

Since leaving the White House in August, Bannon has sought out populist candidates to support in congressional races.
