STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A woman at a bus stop was struck and injured late Sunday night after a police cruiser jumped the sidewalk during a multi-car crash on Staten Island.

The NYPD says the crash happened around 11:15 p.m. in West Brighton.

According to investigators, three cars collided, including a police car, a livery car and another vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and Forest Avenue.

The 72-year-old woman was hit while standing at a bus stop in front of a McDonald's, apparently after the police car hurtled onto the sidewalk by the force of the crash.

Five people in total were hurt in the crash, including two police officers.

All were taken to the hospital for observation.
