If you're looking for a way to justify going out to dinner this week, here's a good excuse on Staten Island.

More than 30 restaurants in the borough will be donating a portion of their proceeds Thursday night to Dine Out for Autism.

The annual promotion allows diners to go grab something to eat at a variety of different local restaurants, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting a Staten Island school program for students with autism called Eden II.

One of the participating restaurants is Sofia’s Taqueria.

"Being that it's April and it's Autism Awareness Month, uh, we thought it was a good way to draw our restaurants and the community into autism awareness and helping to generate not only awareness but funds for Eden II," said owner Peter Botros.

All diners need to do is tell their waiter they are there to Dine Out 4 Autism.
