Police are investigating a wrong-way accident on the Verrazano Bridge that left two officers hurt.

The NYPD says they received a call just after 5 p.m. Monday of a white van going the wrong way on the bridge. 

Police sources tell NY1 the driver of the van was wanted on Staten Island in connection to a burglary. 

While being chased by MTA police, authorities say the van crashed into an unmarked NYPD vehicle with two officers inside, a male and a female officer.

Both officers were transported to the hospital and are expected to be OK. 

The crash caused major delays for commuters. 

Police say the driver of the van is in custody.
