Prom season is right around the corner and one Staten Island organization is hoping to make it memorable for those in need.

The Staten Island nonprofit Where to Turn is handing out prom dresses to teens who cannot afford to buy one.

The students can also choose a pair shoes and accessories for the big night.

Organizers say the dresses aren't exclusively for prom, anyone can come and pick one out for other occasions, including graduations and even senior citizen proms.

"It's a rite of passage, you know the prom, and we really wouldn't want any girl not be able to go to the prom just because she couldn't afford a dress," said Dennis McKeon, Executive Director, Where To Turn.

The dresses will be available throughout prom season.
