Authorities said Monday afternoon that a fire in Brooklyn a day earlier that injured dozens of people was accidental and electrical in nature.

Flames broke out Sunday night around 11:50 p.m. at an apartment on Euclid Ave. near Etna St. in Cypress Hills.

The fire was brought under control in less than an hour. Fire officials believe it started on the first floor.

32 people were treated at local hospitals for smoke inhalation.
