The city is investing $13 million in fixing heating issues at public housing apartments.
Mayor Bill de Blasio says the money will help restore and replace broken boiler systems.
The funding will also go towards revamping old heating equipment and increasing staffing to address outages.
The move comes after several city housing developments were without heat in recent months.
NYCHA says it's also renting new mobile boilers in the event of a heating emergency.
