CHARLOTTE -- Flights from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport are mostly back up and running Sunday morning after some delays during the weekend's winter weather.

Friday's widespread winter weather caused flight delays and cancellations up and down the east coast.

It led airlines to offer travel waivers to affected travelers allowing them to change their travel plans without penalty.

Delta, which has several daily flights between its Atlanta hub and Charlotte, tweeted that they had to cancel 625 flights due to the snow in Atlanta.

Travel experts say this storm was a reminder to have your chosen airline's app on your smartphone.

It's the surest and fastest way to get flight delay and cancellation information.
