Police made an arrest Friday night in a fatal shooting in Brooklyn they say was gang-motivated.

Efrain Rivera, 20, is being charged with murder and weapons possession for Friday afternoon's shooting in Bushwick.

Investigators said the shooting happened on Broadway in-between Summer Place and Fayette St. around 12:57 p.m.

Police said Rivera knew his victim, 20-year-old Shaheem Bernard, and lived just blocks away from where the incident took place.

They believed Rivera opened fire, striking Bernard in the leg. Bernard was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Officers said they recovered a handgun at the scene.
