A city cop critically injured after being dragged by a stolen car is among those honored by the NYPD.

Officer Dalsh Veve was promoted to Detective Specialist during a ceremony at Police Headquarters.

His wife and daughter were met with cheers and applause when they accepted Veve's new shield for him, as he's still recovering from his injuries.

Police say Veve was on plainsclothes duty back in June when he was responding to possible gunshots in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn.

The nine-year veteran was dragged more than two blocks when a 15-year-old sped off as Veve was questioning him.

Veve suffered a head injury, and top brass say it will be long time before he fully recovers.

"He's at a rehab center, this is a serious injury," said NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill. "He's got a wonderful wife, he's got a beautiful little daughter. It's important that we recognize him today, it's important that we recognize his wife, his mom, his daughter."

Veve was able to fire his gun two times during the incident, striking the 15-year-old.

That teen is now facing an attempted murder charge.
