A local auto repair shop hopes to pump the brakes on breast cancer.

AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in Concord is participating in 'Brakes For Breasts' as part Breast Cancer Awareness month.

During the month of October the repair shop will be offering free brake pads and customers will only have to pay for the labor.

Ten percent will go to Cleveland Clinic's breast cancer vaccine research.

The auto repair shop is one of more than 100 participating in the fundraiser.

"We have an aunt who has breast cancer and friends, you know, who have been afflicted with breast cancer. So, you know, it’s always been close to us and we were looking to do something to help out," said Joe Sollitto with AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care.

AAMCO Transmissions also has a location in the Bronx and the two are the only shops throughout the five boroughs participating in the event.
