Women on the North Shore are picking up a new trade.
Staten Island MakerSpace hosted the first ever Tools & Tiaras plumbing workshop.
The non-profit organization focuses on getting women and girls involved in the construction industry.
Saturday's workshop taught women how to install a bathroom faucet.
"I live in a house from the 1920's, its got some oddities and plumbing issues and I really wanted to learn how to do some of these basic repairs and not have to rely on a plumber every time," said attendee, Amanda Straniere.
Organizers say they hope to host these workshops regularly in the future.
