A new contractor is getting set to take over construction of the New York Wheel on Staten Island.
Officials are in negotiations with American Bridge Company, the firm that also built the new Tappan Zee Bridge and the Las Vegas High Roller.
This comes a month after the last contractor was fired for allegedly failing to meet design and construction deadlines.
A spokesperson for New York Wheel says as part of the transition, the cranes provided by the last contractor will be removed to make way for replacement equipment.
A new completion date for the 630-foot-tall wheel is expected to be announced soon.
