Immigration attorneys offered up their services free of charge to the island's immigrant population.

The organization El Centro hosted a free legal service clinic this weekend.

Legal counsel provided consultations and screenings to any one in need of the service.

A "Know-your-rights" and naturalization workshop was also offered.

The organization provides these services weekly, but given the high demand, officials say they needed to create an opportunity for walk-ins.

"Under the nex presdient, we know that there are a little more concerns from our community, from the immigrant community and it doesnt matter if they are undocumented or not, they are protected by the constitution of the US," said Favio Ramirez-Caminatti, the Executive Director of El Centro.

Officials with El Centro say one in every four Staten Islanders are foreign born. For more information about their services head to el centro N-Y-C DOT org.
