A man is facing charges for shooting a 10-year-old during a family gathering Saturday on Staten Island, according to police.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at a house on Deisius St. near Prall Ave. in Prince's Bay.

Police said Mosheshvili Semion, 42, of Long Island was on the second floor of the house, looking at his friend's gun when he accidentally pulled the trigger.

The bullet went through the first floor and struck the boy in his right shoulder, police said. He was rushed to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Police said Semion ran from the scene and was later arrested.

He faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a weapon.

The city police department said the gun's owner was licensed.
