Keep your eyes out for A-listers on the island, like Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and even Rihanna.

The filming of a new Netflix series and the movie Oceans 8 is underway at the former Arthur Kill Correctional Facility.

Borough President James Oddo and Broadway Stages held a press conference Friday morning to make the announcement.

Ocean’s 8, a sequel and all-female spinoff of the Ocean’s trilogy, will be begin filming at the former prison on Saturday, while the new Netflix series, Seven Seconds, will begin as early as Friday.

Those involved say the media and film industry is well and alive on Staten Island.

"People are wondering, when is this project going to happen, but it is happening as we speak. As the Borough President said, there is filming going on on Staten Island everyday," said Broadway Stages Spokesman Warren Cohn.

"Every time you hear a director say action, that means there is economic activity happening," said Oddo.

Broadway Stages is currently working with the State to fully purchase the Arthur Kill Correctional Facility.

Once the purchase goes through they say they will invest more than $20 million into the facility within the first five years.
