Students across the city headed back to the classroom Wednesday after Spring Break, and a Stapleton school started the week off on a "high note".

Violinist Eric Stanley put on a special performance Wednesday for students at P.S. 78.

Stanley started playing the violin when he was just 12 years old.

He says it was a difficult instrument to pick-up at first, but he pushed through to become the established musician he is today.

Stanley tells us it's a big reason why he travels to schools across the country, sending his message of hope and determination.

"It's been a way for me to keep going and to not give up and that's what I hope the kids understand. This is not about how many notes I can play," said Stanley.

Stanley traveled all the way from Richmond, Virginia to meet with the kids.
