A Lighthouse Hill museum is bringing some of its treasured items out of storage and into public view.

The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art unveiled three special items from its collection Sunday, this one dates back to the 17th century.

It's all part of the museum's "Freed from the Vault" program.

On the third Sunday of each month, visitors can stop by to see items that haven't seen the light of day in 20 to 30 years.

"We have about 3,000 objects in the collection and of course not all of them can be on view at the same time so theyre stored in a fine arts facility and it's been great to bring things back to the museum."

said Meg Bentrudo, Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art.

The museum also has a collection on display at the Staten Island Museum.

The "Infinite Compassion" exhibit runs through September 24th.
