A new exhibit at the Staten Island Museum contains many recognizable historical faces.

The museum debuted the series of large scale portraits titled "Of Human Feelings" Saturday afternoon

More than a dozen paintings illustrate historical figures from Abraham Lincoln to Frederick Douglas and Sojourner Truth.

Warren Lyons says he used just oil paints and his fingers to build the images.

He also tells us he hopes the exhibit captures both the inner and outer likeness of these historical figures.

"I am trying to make the connection between what one feels and what one sees, and how what one feels and what one sees again connects to history." Warren Lyons said.

The exhibit will be on display at the Staten Island Museum through June 18.
