Performing arts students here in the borough are taking cues from the pro's.

Original cast members from the Tony-award-winning show "Avenue Q" stopped by Wagner College Tuesday.

Puppeteer Jennifer Barnhart spoke to students about life on-stage and her journey of making it big on Broadway.

She also shared some pointers with students as they learn puppetry for an upcoming show of their own.

"She taught us all basically from the ground up. How to puppeteer and how to really use the puppets in a way that conveys the whole story - not just ourselves,” said  student Stephen Kallas, Student

“It’s inspiring for me to talk to aspiring young actors and performers and theater artists in general because there’s the fire,” said Barnhart.

Barnhart also worked as a puppeteer on Sesame Street and the Muppet Show.
