It has been a week now since tenants of a Park Hill apartment complex have been able to cook because their gas was turned off.

City Councilwoman Debi Rose says repairs are underway.  But there's no word when they'll be complete since the buildings department and National Grid both then have to sign off on the work.

The city forced the building's owner to turn the gas off last Wednesday due to an illegal hookup that was found.

Frustrated residents says they've been forced to fight for resources they need.

"We've been the ones focused on getting the hot plates, we've been the ones that, I've been the one that talked to HR regarding getting emergency food stamps. So it is a process and I will be there from beginning to the end," said Resident Dule Maria Rivera.

"For my four children I am usually cooking every day for them. And it's been a lot spending a lot of money at restaurants and different take-outs," said Resident Amber Bryan.

Councilwoman Rose says she'll be working to help expedite the repair process.
