A local artist has been painting the skyline of lower Manhattan for thirty years, giving people a glimpse of what the World Trade Center Site looked like before and after the September 11th attacks.

Sarah Yuster has released a montage of her work on Facebook.

She first painted the skyline from Victory Blvd and Forest Avenue in 1985. She also painted the two columns of light where the towers once stood in 2011 from the same vantage point.

When One World Trade Center was built, Yuster said she was compelled to create a new portrait.

Yuster lives in West Brighton and says many people in her neighborhood were affected by the September 11th attacks, and some even lost their lives.

"People in my neighborhood and all over Staten Island commuted there," she says. "Every day we can see that tower. I think it's not possible to forget.
