A local artist is painting a picture of patriotism ahead of Flag Day and the Fourth of July.

Scott LoBaido is just about finished with his latest American flag mural on a Cannon Avenue home.

His artwork is usually seen on businesses, but he says he wanted to bring stars and stripes into a residential area.

LoBaido launched an online contest in search of a patriotic homeowner worthy of the statement piece.

"I think when it's this crazy I think it stays with them a little longer than just seeing it on a flag pole and then driving by you know it's more of a shock," said LoBaido.

"When they see the house I want them to think we are American we're all one and let's be patriots and let's express that, let's show that," said Homeowner Eric Hopkins.

The house sits along the annual Fourth of July parade route.
