A new exhibit is now on display at the National Lighthouse Museum.

It's called "City of Ships."

The photo gallery will be on display at the Saint George waterfront attraction through mid-July.

It features the work of Byron Huart who took all the photos over 8 years.

Each one captures a snapshot of modern maritime history in and around the New York Harbor.

Huart says tracking down the ships is no small task, but that it's well worth the effort.

"What drives me is the cause. The cause of preserving history because if no one else documents it, if I don't go out to do it then no one else will," said Huart.

He plans to bring the exhibit to other cities across the country.

It will be on display in Saint George through July 16th.
