A local nonprofit is creating opportunities for those with special needs.
"On Your Mark" celebrated the grand opening of its new Forest Avenue chocolate shop Tuesday.
The organization is dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities.
Participants in its employment education program staff the shop and create the artisan chocolates.
Organizers say their latest venture is all about teaching important skills for the work-place.
"It just does so much for the confidence and for the team building, creating meaningful employment," said John Bilotti, the Executive Director of "On Your Mark."
"I learn baking, I learn cleaning, I learn chocolate," said Marissa Gallo, a Chocolate Shop Employee.
The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday.
