Staten Islanders in need are getting some relief this Easter.

Stop and Shop Supermarket donated a thousand hams Tuesday to the Doctor Theodore Atlas Foundation.

Local school-children joined Borough President James Oddo to help unload this big-rig filled with the hams.

All of them will be delivered to families in need ahead of the holiday.

"It gives people the opportunity to have Easter in their home with their families like everybody else. It might be an opportunity that people wouldn't have otherwise," said Joseph Fama of the Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation.

"We are reaching out to the families in need and so we can put a beautiful, table holiday dinner for them and for their families," said Stop & Shop's Arlene Putterman.

The hams will go to 20 different local food pantries, schools and other community organizations.
