The abandoned Staten Island Hospital where a teenager fell to his death last week will be demolished.

The permit for demolition has been issued, and sources tell us preliminary work will begin Wednesday.

The entire process could take about four to six months to complete.

Marcos Castillo, 16, died Friday while playing with friends inside the building on Castleton Avenue near Oxford Place.

Investigators say the boy stepped on a wooden plank inside an elevator shaft and it split.

The city says the former hospital was declared unsafe and ordered sealed back in 1992.

Another emergency declaration to demolish it was issued in February 2015.

The site has been abandoned for 36 years.
