An elderly woman is now able to get around her Midland Beach home with ease.

Congressman Dan Donovan helped homeowner Bill Owens - locate the Long Term Recovery Organization- which helped install a new chair lift for his 86-year-old mother.

After Hurricane Sandy, Owens was forced to elevate his home during the rebuilding process.

Those changes added to the number of steps for Owen's mother to climb and without a way to pay for a chair lift himself he reached out Donovan's office about 2 weeks ago.

"She has her mobility back and able to get out and visit people and go to church which is her main goal now - getting to church," said Bill Owens.

"The reason for the press conference today was to allow others know that they don't have to make any determinations, they don't have to make 800 phone calls to find out the right agency to help them - they should call our office," said Rep. Dan Donovan.

Residents can reach Donovan's district office at 718-351-1062.
