A group of Staten Island students hope their artwork will inspire others to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Students from PS 25 in the "Learning Through an Expanded Arts Program" or LEAP unveiled their creation at Snug Harbor Cultural Center Thursday.

The young artists painted a lunch table focusing on the importance of healthy eating, exercise, protecting the environment and animals.

“Hundreds of thousands of people are going to see these tables across the city and they will hopefully really think differently on these issues and see what kids have to say,” said Alexandra Leff, Creator and Director of LeAp’s Public Art Program.

“I hope it inspires people to stop animal abuse and stop eating so much,” said P.S. 25 student Angeliqia Perez.

LEAP is a non-profit organization that brings an arts-based curriculum into public schools.

The table is just one of 10 located in parks across the city.
