A low-pressure system over the area gave the five boroughs a gray Sunday, and conditions were unseasonably cool as temperatures struggled to get out of the 60s.

We should finally see a break in the clouds on Sunday as some warmer and more humid air moves into the area. Temperatures are expected to rise into the mid and upper 80s. Keep an eye on the sky though; Some locations could see a shower or storm move through during the afternoon or evening hours.

Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to drop back to more seasonable levels for the first half of the upcoming week. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny, and humidity levels will be on the low side. Our next storm system makes its way into the region on Thursday, and isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening hours. Expect highs in the mid 80s.
