The sunshine returned to the Big Apple a day after the city saw its first snowfall of the season, but, it remained quite chilly as temperatures stayed below-normal for the third straight day. More of that is in store for Monday, but, we might have to deal with a brief round of snowflakes first.

Clouds will be on the increase Sunday night, and some flurries or light snow could develop towards the morning hours. No significant accumulations are expected, but, some locations could see a light dusting. Look for the snow taper-off by the late-morning hours, and skies to become partly sunny. Temperatures will be below-normal once again, so, be sure to bundle-up.

A coastal storm brought the first snowflakes of the season to the region on Saturday. Most locations in the five boroughs were in the 2 to 4 inch range, practically all of New Jersey saw 3 to 5 inches, and parts of Connecticut saw as much as 7 inches. Snow accumulation was seen primarily on grassy surfaces, cars, and rooftops, while sidewalks and streets were mostly wet and/or slushy.
