BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — While millions of families across the country are gathering for a Thanksgiving feast, students at Binghamton High School invited the entire community to come over.

Students prepared and served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to more than one-thousand community residents.

The feast included more than 1,000 pounds of turkey, 550 pounds of sweet potatoes and 300 pies.

Local residents say they are thankful for the students because they made this Thanksgiving holiday possible.

"The most greatest thing in the world because if it weren't for students, they wouldn't have this. The students are what makes this happen because we need them to help us with things. If they help us then things get done," said Joanne Fredericks, a Binghamton resident.

Binghamton High School hosts the community dinner each year and it continues to grow.
