QUEENS, N.Y. - A Queens mother is in police custody after a 1-year-old girl died and her twin brother critically injured Thursday night.

Sources identify the mother as Tina Torabi, 30.

Police responded to a 911 call Thursday around 10 p.m. at a home located at 171-15 Ashby Avenue in Auburndale.

Inside they found the infant, identified as Elaina Torabi, unconscious and unresponsive.

The child's twin brother was also found with severe trauma to his body.

Elaina Torabi was transported to Flushing Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Her brother was transported to Cohen Children's Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

Police say three other children ages 2, 4, and 5 were also inside the home but were not injured.

The New York City Medical Examiner will determine the child's cause of death.
