A man is facing animal cruetly charges after police say officers had to rescue four dogs left in a hot car in Queens.

Police say the dogs were saved Sunday by officers from the 108th Precinct, which covers Long Island City, Sunnyside and Woodside.

They responded after receiving what police say was an overwhelming number of complaints from the community.

A heat advisory was in effect over the weekend. Temperatures topped 90 degrees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A cage was also found in the vehicle.

Police say the dogs were taken to the ASPCA and are in good condition.
