The battle of the boroughs hits the pool.

The parks department hosted its 20th annual Borough Cup Championship Swim meet today.

13 teams from all five boroughs compete against one another for the title.

Nearly 600 swimmers participated this year.

This meet is the final of four meets that make up the competition.

"The entire city is represented. It is really a city championship," said John Hutchins, NYC Parks Director of Aquatics. "And the kids love to compete against one another, lots of rivalry. Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island. And the parents really get into it too."

And it's not just borough's earning the top titles, individual swimmers who put up the best times at all of the previous meets were presented with trophies for their achievements as well.
