A man was arrested in South Carolina on Tuesday in connection to the severe beating and sexual assault of a woman in Queens in late-April.

Police said that members of the Special Victims Unit and the Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehend Ronald Williams, 21, in a motel in the city of Columbia without incident on Tuesday morning. Officials said Williams will be extradited to the city.

The city police department said a witness found the woman in a stairwell near 72nd Road and Kissena Boulevard in Kew Gardens Hills just after 8:30 a.m. on April 30 and called 911. The NYPD said responding officers found the 52-year-old woman unconscious.

Sources said the woman had dropped off her son at P.S. 165 around 7:55 a.m. and was walking home when a man pulled her into the stairwell and attacked her.

Police said she was transported to a local hospital in serious condition with substantial injuries to her face and body.
