Some Queens residents are on a mission to make sure people of all ages can enjoy the Easter holiday.

The 100th precinct in Rockaway Beach held a free celebration for kids on Friday.  Along with a visit from the Easter Bunny, kids also got to enjoy hunting for eggs, some ice cream, face painting, and more.

Organizers say the goal is to show the community how much children are appreciated. Jenna Fuller, a parent who attended the event, says "I know they had fun, the kids had fun. The officers looked like they were really enjoying themselves. It's something that they like to do and it's not something they were forced to do. So, I feel like that's really important too."

This is the first year the precinct has hosted this event.
