A program through the New York City Housing Authority has helped to make a Queens woman's dream come true.

Charline Ogbeni recently became a homeowner. The former resident of the Queensbridge Houses enrolled in the Small Homes Rehab NYCHA program.

It helps low to moderate income New Yorkers find affordable homes.  The homes are then rehabilitated with the help of non profit organizations.

"For me to be a homeowner is to have a piece of the pie. But, it's always good to have something that you say and really call your own and this is my first opporunity to have that," she said.

NYCHA says so far 13 of its residents have either closed or are expected to close on a new home.
