Police have released new surveillance video of a person they said was involved in a gas station robbery that led to an off-duty police officer fatally shooting a man in Brooklyn on Monday.

The city police department said Thursday night that the man — seen wearing the white coat and hood the surveillance video above — acted as an accomplice in Canarsie when William Simon, 19, held up a station attendant.

Officials said the off-duty officer, who was at the station to get gas for his private car and had told the men to stop, shot Simon after he and the second man turned towards the officer with a gun. The second man then fled the scene.

Simon was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said.
