NATIONWIDE -- The flu shot may do more than just protect you from the flu, it could also be good for your heart.

Doctors at Public Health Ontario say the vaccine may help protect people from heart attacks, especially for those who have a high risk of having one.

However, some health experts believe the flu shot could be like taking high blood pressure medicine. Doctors say a combination of inflammation, an increased risk of clotting in the blood, and stress the flu puts on your body could be factors that might lead to a heart attack.
