Life Science opportunities could be coming to Queens.

The Long Island City Partnership wants to develop a life science cluster in the neighborhood.

It would include space for pharmaceuticals, training facilities and more.

Officials with the agency say they have been in contact with consulting companies to determine what the neighborhood would need to make a life science cluster work.

Both the City and State are already looking for ways to develop life science hubs and officials with the Long Island City Partnership say they think their neighborhood is a good spot.

"You need live-work. You need workforce. You need different kinds of space. And you need room to grow. And you really can't find all of that in any other place in New York City," said Elizabeth Lusskin, President, Long Island City Partnership.

Submissions to the city must be in by May for those interested in developing a life science cluster.
