It was a battle for the crown on Staten Island Sunday.
Contestants came from all over the borough to compete at the Miss Staten Island/Miss Richmond County 52nd Annual Pageant.
To compete, the girls champion a local cause, answer questions from judges, and have to show off their skills in a talent segment.
Organizers say it's a great way to develop lifelong relationships and skills.
20-year-old NYU student Madison L'Insalata took home Miss Richmond County. 23-year-old sanitation worker Nicole Doz was crowned Miss Staten Island.
Both winners receive scholarships and will compete for the title of Miss New York.
