BUFFALO, N.Y. — 2017 was a good year for Bills fans, and that meant a good year for area sports bars.

"Every week, every Sunday here at 1 o'clock, for most of the games, it was a packed crowd. Everyone was feeling good, cheering on, even if we weren't doing so well. But, it's good times," said Jeremiah Hackett, Santora's Pizza Pub and Grill manager.

NFL football means big bucks for sports bars. Throughout the season, fans go to their favorite bar to cheer on their favorite team. But what happens when your team's season comes to an end? Hackett says there is life after the Bills season.

“Buffalo is, the fans are football fans first then Buffalo fans second. So, they're here for the Bills but they also support the game. They're here to watch everything else. You'll see people here in Vikings jerseys, Jaguars, even the Patriots. But people still come out in support on Sundays. It should be good until all the way after the Super Bowl," said Hackett.

But for some fans like Cameron Foster, once the Bills season ended, it’s a bit different.

"After they lose, I still want to watch football but I'm more inclined to stay at home, maybe order a pizza or something, have a beer on the couch. So, I do believe maybe after they lose, yeah I'm less likely to hit the bars," said Foster.

Still, Joseph Battaglia says at Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill on Delaware Avenue, business is good.

"Between the Embassy Suites being across the street, we've got the Hampton, we've got the Hyatt, having a lot of out-of-towners, we're trying to become the premier downtown spot to watch sports in Buffalo New York, and I think we're doing pretty good at it," said Battaglia.

So whether your team is in or out, the sports bars say they'll be there for football fans until the final score.
