A Brooklyn family remains in limbo after a ceiling collapse forced them out of their public housing apartment.

Daniel Jeter says NYCHA first told them it would take about a week until there was enough progress on the repairs to allow them to access their apartment on a regular basis.

Now he says they're bring told it will be at least a month.

The family is staying in emergency housing.

They were allowed to return to their apartment in the Weeksville Houses Thursday, but just to get a few things.

Jeter says his family is torn because his wife wants a new place, but his sons want to go back.

But he also says NYCHA told them a new apartment might not be available in Brooklyn where they work and they're not happy about that.
