A new sports program in Queens is aiming to give girls a shot on and off the basketball court.

Local moms and retired pro WNBA player Kym Hampton cut the ribbon on the new Girl's Basketball and Beyond camp Saturday.

The camp offers basketball clinics, nutrition classes and women’s history classes for girls ages six to 17.

It runs after school and on the weekends.

"I hope it empowers them to feel confident about who they are, how they feel, comfortable with their physical being, you know, better in school," said Denise Frazier, Founder, Girl's Basketball & Beyond.

They will also be holding a special basketball camp from December 26th to 29th.
