Christmas came early Wednesday for thousands of kids with special needs in Queens.

The Port Authority transformed a hanger at JFK Airport into the North Pole for 'Operation Santa.'

More than 3,000 kids were treated to a parade, music, food and gifts.

But the main attraction was Santa himself who arrived not on his reindeer pulled slay, but a Boeing 767.

"The kids are excited. They say, "We're going to the North Pole?" I say, yep, we're going to the North Pole. So we're happy to be here," said Teacher Sherette Wright.

The event was hosted by Community Mayors, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of life of children with disabilities.
