With the start of the holidays and the cooler temperatures, many kids are exited about all the winter activities they plan on getting in this season.

NY1 spoke with an exited group of youngsters at the Word Ice Arena in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Friday to find out what they love the most about this time of the year.

"If there's a snowman, you can like throw a big snowball at them or like something," said one child. Others said, "Christmas is coming soon. It's like right around the corner," and the ultimate thrill for one child was "my birthday's in the winter and I like playing in the snow."

And for those who are skating buffs, the ice arena is open all year round, but workers told NY1 there is an uptick in attendance between November and February.
