A Queens lawmaker wants to make sure people know their rights if a car gets towed.
State Senator Jose Peralta handed out information pamphlets outside the Food Bazaar in Jackson Heights Friday.
He said tow operators can only charge drivers one hundred 25 dollars for removal and the first three days of storage.
Peralta also said only licensed tow machine operators can remove cars, and they must have written permission of the private property owner to do so.
