CONCORD, N.C. -- The Concord Police Department is investigating after a shooting left one man dead Thursday morning.

Police received a 911 call just before 5 a.m. informing them there had been a shooting at 228 Academy Avenue.

Upon arrival Sergio Montez Culbertson, 27, was located suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Culbertson was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast where he later died.

Investigators say the incident does not appear to be random, and they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community at this time.

Officials say this is Concord's first murder of the year.
